 MRS. LYNETTE SALTZMAN HEADS JUDGING PANEL FOR 129th ANNUAL WESTMINSTER KENNEL CLUB DOG SHOW  NEW YORK - Mrs. Lynette Saltzman has attended every Westminster since 1949 and finished her first champion at the 1957 show, but in 2005 the 129th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be quite special for her. She has been selected to judge Best In Show, the ultimate award at the world's pre-eminent dog show, at Madison Square Garden February 14-15, 2005. A resident of Westport, CT, Mrs. Saltzman is a lifelong dog breeder-owner (Shetland Sheepdogs), and has been licensed to judge since 1969. She has officiated at Westminster on six different occasions in the past, including the Herding Group in 1991 and the Working Group in 1999. She will head a panel of 40 judges from 17 states and Canada. Judging the seven Variety Groups will be Mrs. Paula Nykiel of Washington, MO (Sporting); Mr. Dana Cline of Loves Park, IL (Hound); Mr. Norman Kenney of Westford, MA (Working); Mrs. Cindy Vogels of Greenwood Village, CO (Terrier); Mr. Kenneth McDermott of Newburgh, NY (Toy); Ms. Sandra Goose Allen of Madeira Beach, FL (Non-Sporting); and Mrs. Dorothy Collier of Wellington, FL (Herding). Dr. J. Charles Garvin of Marion, OH will judge the Junior Showmanship Finals. There will be 165 breeds and varieties eligible for competition in 2005, including three newly-recognized breeds: the Black Russian Terrier and the Neapolitan Mastiff (both in the Working Group), and the Glen of Imaal Terrier (Terrier Group). The Westminster Kennel Club is America's oldest organization dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs. Established in 1877, Westminster's influence has been felt for more than a century through its famous all breed, benched dog show held every year at New York's Madison Square Garden.
