Rufus Wins Another Honor

Rufus, the incomparable, indomitable Colored Bull Terrier that captured Best In Show at Westminster in 2006, has been selected as one of the winners in the 11th annual AKC Humane Fund Awards for Canine Excellence (ACE) honoring dogs that have made significant contributions to their communities. He won in the Therapy Dog category.

Rufus (Ch. Rocky Top's Sundance Kid) has stayed busy since winning at Westminster, performing therapy dog work that included a visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and to extended care, schools and health care facilities in the Tri-State area. The top-winning Bull Terrier in history, his owners are Tom and Barbara Bishop of Holmdel, NJ.

Rufus will be honored at the AKC's Meet The Breeds event in New York in October, and will receive $1,000 and an engraved Sterling silver medallion.
