Junior Rules Change For 2013, But Remain The Same For 2012
The Westminster Kennel Club has announced new requirements for eligibility in its Junior Showmanship competition beginning with its 2013 show. Requirements for 2012 will remain the same as in previous years.
Beginning with the 2013 show, Junior Handlers will be invited to enter if they have been placed Best Junior Handler (with competition) at seven or more AKC Licensed or Member shows held between November 1, 2011 and October 31, 2012 (inclusive), and who were at least 9 years old and under 18 years old at the time of each qualifying win.
For 2012, requirements for an invitation to compete remain the same as in past years: 10 first place awards in Open Classes (with competition). The 136th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be held on Monday and Tuesday, February 13-14, 2012, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
