PEMBROKE WELSH CORGI

Pembroke Welsh Corgis were developed in Wales as livestock and family dogs. Their Welsh ancestry dates back to at least the tenth century. A true dwarf breed, the Pembroke Corgi is recognized by their foxy face and sturdily built, moderately long and low shape. They have a weather resistant, double coat which does shed. The Pembroke's brave, affectionate temperament, compact size and physical agility are paramount characteristics of the breed. Originally a bob-tailed breed, most Pembrokes in America have no tails.
