IBIZAN HOUND
The Ibizan Hound is a breed of antiquity once owned and coursed by the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. During the 8th century, the Ibizan was brought to the Balearic Islands to hunt rabbit and remained there unspoiled for 2000 years. Amidst the treasures discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922 was a full-size statue of Anubis, the Watchdog of the Dead, which is nearly indistinguishable from today's Ibizan Hound. Lithe, agile and strong, the Ibizan's appearance is uniquely elegant. Ibizans are lively companions, watchdogs, and hunters who bond well with their families while offering much character and good humor.
