RUSSELL TERRIER
The Russell Terrier is considered the ultimate working earth terrier due to their small size (10" to 12") and unique chest. The hallmark of the breed is their small, flexible chest, easily spanned, which allows them to hunt efficiently below ground. Their origin dates back to the 1800's in England where these small terriers were utilized for the sport of fox hunting carried horseback in terrier bags. They are predominantly white with spots and come in three haircoats, smooth, broken, and rough. They are highly intelligent, fiercely loyal, and thrive in an active lifestyle.
