MR. JEFFREY G. PEPPER of BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA began his involvement in the sport in 1969 with Golden Retrievers. By 1972, having attended matches and championship shows where his dog earned his CD obedience degree, he entered his first conformation show, the Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty in New Jersey. His dog placed in his class and a lifetime involvement in dogs began. Under his Pepperhill prefix, Mr. Pepper, along with his former wife Barbara, bred winning Golden Retrievers and Petit Basset Griffon Vendéens. Dogs from their kennel in both breeds earned multiple Best in Show and National Specialty Best of Breed awards. Currently, he owns two Champion Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and a Whippet.
In 1985, Mr. Pepper received his AKC license to judge his first breed, Golden Retrievers. He is presently approved to judge All Sporting and Hound breeds, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Best in Show. He has judged extensively in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, New Zealand, as well as South America. This is his third judging assignment at Westminster.
