Dr. Joyce Dandridge
DR. JOYCE DANDRIDGE of Washington D.C. became involved with dogs as a child growing up with her family’s Chow Chows. Dr. Dandridge exhibited as a breeder-owner-handler in conformation and obedience for more than thirty-three years earning awards and titles in both areas.
In addition to exhibiting, she has been the Show Chairwoman for Specialties, served on the board of dog clubs, and held various officer positions for the Southern Chow Chow Club, Capital Dog Training Club of Washington D.C., National Capital Kennel Club, and the Mid-Atlantic Stewards. She also served as the Corresponding Secretary for the Chow Chow Club, Inc. for 18 years. Additionally, she has served as an AKC Delegate since 2006 and currently serves on a Delegate committee. Dr. Dandridge is the recipient of the AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award and has received lifetime memberships from her parent and obedience clubs.
Presently, she is approved to judge the Non-Sporting and Working Groups, some Herding and Toy breeds. She has judged four National Specialties of different breeds, including the Chow Chow National Specialty show. This is her first judging assignment at Westminster.
