Ms. Kathleen J. Ferris
MS. KATHLEEN J. FERRIS of Holland, Pennsylvania, is a second-generation dog fancier who started in 1972 with a Scottish Terrier named McDuff. Her mother was a professional handler, and her father was a dog show judge. The family's kennel of "Wychwood" Scottish Terriers earned many wins over the years and a respected name in the Terrier world.
After a career in Human Resources, Ms. Ferris started handling professionally in the mid-1980s. She was a Kennel Review New Handler of the Year nominee and piloted a West Highland White Terrier to the number one ranked Terrier. In 2002 she retired to manage her family's large boarding kennel. She is an active member of Bucks County Kennel Club, Montgomery County Kennel Club, Hatboro Dog Club, and Scottish Terrier Club of America and a former AKC Gazette breed columnist.
Ms. Ferris began judging in 2005 and is approved to judge the Terrier Group, some Toy breeds, and Best in Show. This is her first judging assignment at Westminster.
