Finnish Spitz

The Finnish Spitz is a medium-sized, lively dog, recognized by his beautiful red-gold coat, fox-like expression, erect ears and curled tail. This national dog of Finland was originally bred to hunt small game and birds. He is now becoming popular as a family pet, being extremely smart and drawn to children. This breed thrives on companionship and must be a part of the family. Meticulously clean, they require little grooming beyond a weekly brushing and an occasional bath. Training requires patience and a soft approach, since they are too intelligent to be bullied.
