Mr. James S. Covey
MR. JAMES S. COVEY of Ballston Lake, New York became involved in dogs in 1965 as kennel help for an Irish Setter conformation and performance kennel and began showing dogs in 1970. He then started an English Cocker Spaniel breeding program which spanned 25 years, producing a number of champions and a breeder handled National Specialty winner. In the early 1980s, he started breeding Norfolk Terriers. Mr. Covey has judged the Brittany, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Labrador Retriever, English Setter, Irish Setter, English Cocker Spaniel, Weimaraner, Norfolk Terrier, and Golden Retriever national specialties. He is approved to judge the Sporting Group, Norfolk Terriers, Norwich Terries, and Best in Show. This is his third judging assignment at Westminster.
