DR. JOHN REEVE-NEWSON of Toronto, Canada, in partnership with Dr. Richard Meen, established Kishniga Kennels in 1971 and has since bred top-winning Dobermans, Old English Sheepdogs, Skye Terriers, French Bulldogs, Borzoi, Harriers, and Norwich Terriers. In 1977, their homebred Borzoi, Kishniga’s Desert Song, was Canada’s top dog all breeds.

Dr. Reeve-Newson graduated from veterinary college in 1964 and soon after that established his still-active practice in Toronto. He is also founder and CEO of Canada’s first veterinary emergency clinic. He is a member of a number of dog organizations and professional associations, including the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, where he has served as Councilor and President.

In 2006, Dr. Reeve-Newson founded the Companion Animal Wellness Foundation, a registered charity that provides funding assistance for the treatment of the critically ill or injured pets of those financially disadvantaged. In 2014, he was made a Companion of the Order of Caring Canadians by the Governor-General. Dr. Reeve-Newson is licensed to judge all breeds. He judged the Hound Group in 2004. This is his seventh Westminster judging assignment.
