Gretchen K. Schultz

GRETCHEN SCHULTZ OF BETHEL ISLAND, CALIFORNIA is a second-generation fancier who assisted her parents, professional handlers Walt and Joyce Shellenbarger, as a youngster. Her parents owned Gretchenhof Kennels, Reg. and bred and exhibited top-winning German Shorthaired Pointers, including the Westminster Kennel Club best in show winner, Ch. Gretchenhof Columbia River in 1974. Ms. Schultz became a professional handler in the late 1970’s. She has shown numerous champions, group, national specialty, and best in show winners, including top winners in all seven groups. She retired from handling in 2003 to become a judge. Ms. Schultz is currently approved for 13 Sporting breeds and junior showmanship. She has judged the German Wirehaired Pointer and Golden Retriever national specialties. This is her second Westminster judging assignment.
