Meet the English Foxhound

English foxhounds were bred to work together in packs to hunt foxes by scent, followed by huntsmen on horseback. Most English foxhounds today live in packs and are still used for their traditional role of hunting the fox. The English foxhound is an athletic hunting dog with a keen sense of smell and stamina to run over large expanses. Though very high energy in the field, and requiring significant exercise and activity, English foxhounds are quite gentle and easygoing when they return home. An English foxhound is friendly and social, and gets along well with other animals and people.
