Meet the Anatolian Shepherd Dog

The magnificent Anatolian shepherd dog has been revered throughout Asia Minor as an exceptional guardian for more than 4,000 years. Turkish people still prize this large, powerful dog for its exceptional intelligence, ability to think independently and make its own decisions while guarding livestock across the Anatolian plains, as do Americans on farms and ranches throughout the United Stated. Anatolians are extremely fast, athletic and very territorial. They are long lived with few genetic health issues. With proper socialization and obedience training, Anatolians can become excellent companions to experienced dog owners. The dogs prefer a “formal introduction” to strangers.
