Conformation Breed Exhibitor Qualifying Information
- The invitation Qualifying Period for the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for:
- Top Five AKC Champions of Record Dogs for each breed or variety based on breed rankings
- National Specialty Best of Breed Winners
Junior Showmanship Exhibitor Qualifying Information
- The invitation Qualifying Period for the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show for Junior Showmanship entrants is October 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023.
- Junior Showmanship Handlers will be invited to enter if they have been awarded Best Junior (from a minimum of two competing classes) at SEVEN (7) or more AKC Licensed or Member shows within the above-stated qualifying period, and who were at least 9 years old and under 18 years old at the time of each qualifying win.
Obedience Exhibitor Qualifying Information
- The invitation Qualifying Period for the 9th Annual Masters Obedience Championship at Westminster is January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for:
- Invitees include:
- Top 200 dogs based on OTCH points earned only at AKC Obedience Trials during the qualification period.
- Winners from the previous year’s Westminster Masters Obedience Championship, the AKC Classic Master Class and the AKC National Obedience Championship.
- Non-Invited Entry Eligibility includes:
- Dogs eligible for AKC Obedience Trial Open B and Utility B Classes that have earned the AKC Obedience Trial Championship (OTCH) title prior to submitting their entry for this event are also eligible but will not receive an advanced invitation.
- Invitees include:
Agility Exhibitor Qualifying Information
- The 2024 Trial will be open to dogs with MACH, PACH titles only.
- Participants must have MACH or PACH titles at the time of entry.
- Entries will not be accepted without these titles.
- If entering “PREFERRED,” you must have a PACH title at the time of entry.

Where is Westminster Week being held this year?
The 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show daytime breed judging presented by Purina Pro Plan®, including the 12th Annual Masters Agility Championship, will be held at the Javits Center located at 429 11th Ave, New York, NY 10001. The evening Groups and Best in Show will be held at Madison Square Garden located at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001.
What is the 2025 WKC Dog Show eligibility period?
INVITED CONFORMATION DOGS :
THE TOP FIVE DOGS (AKC Champions of Record) in each breed/variety are invited to pre-enter. The Top Five dogs will be determined based on the number of dogs defeated in breed competition only at AKC shows held from October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024 inclusive. A listing of the Top Five dogs to be invited will be posted on westminsterkennelclub.org and infodog.com as soon as final statistics are received from AKC and processed. You do NOT need to wait to receive the Invitation in order to submit your entry. Entries for an invited dog may be sent beginning November 8, 2024 OR when the Invitees Lists are posted whichever is earliest. Entries sent prior to that time will be returned. A Memento Certificate acknowledging the Top 5 status qualifying the dog’s eligibility to be invited to pre- enter, along with a pre-printed entry form and addressed return envelope, will be sent via regular First Class Mail to the owner at the address on file with our superintendent. Please follow the instructions on the reverse of the pre-printed entry form. No entry will be accepted that requires a signature for delivery.
THE NATIONAL BREED SPECIALTY BEST OF BREED WINNERS (for AKC Licensed or Member National Breed Specialties held between October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024 inclusive) that are AKC Champions according to owner’s records are invited to pre-enter. A listing of the National Breed Specialty Champion Best of Breed Winners will be posted on westminsterkennelclub.org and infodog.com as soon as final statistics are received from AKC and processed. You do NOT need to wait to receive the Invitation in order to submit your entry. Entries for an invited dog may be sent beginning November 8, 2024 OR when the Invitees Lists are posted whichever is earliest. Entries sent prior to that time will be returned. A Memento Certificate acknowledging this status qualifying the dog’s eligibility to be invited to pre-enter, along with a pre-printed entry form and addressed return envelope, via regular First Class Mail to the owner at the address on file with our superintendent. Please follow the instructions on the reverse of the pre- printed entry form. No entry will be accepted that requires a signature for delivery.
Junior Showmanship Eligibility Requirements:
Junior Handlers will only be invited to enter if they have been awarded Best Junior Handler (from the winners of a minimum of two competing classes) at SEVEN or more AKC Licensed or Member shows held between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024 (inclusive), and who were at least 9 years old and under 18 years old at the time of each qualifying win. A memento Certificate of Eligibility, along with a Junior Showmanship entry form and return envelope will be sent regular First Class mail, to the address on file with MB- F. (Eligible Junior Handlers do NOT need to wait to receive the Invitation before entering and can enter using the standard entry form enclosed in this Premium List.)
When do entries close?
Conformation entries may begin to be submitted November 8, 2024 OR when the Invitees Lists are posted, whichever is earliest. Entries close at on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 3 p.m. ET.
Agility entries open on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 7 a.m. ET and close on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 3 p.m. ET.
Does my dog have to be a champion to enter?
Dogs entered in conformation must have attained their CH status at the time the entry is submitted. Dogs entered in Junior Showmanship only do not have to be Champions. Agility dogs must have a MACH or PACH title at the time of entry.
Is this a benched show?
Yes, this is a benched show. Dogs must be on their benches by 11 a.m. on the day they are judged and remain on their benches, except for brief exercise breaks, until the release time of 4:30 p.m. Dogs are permitted to be off their benches for grooming for a period of 1½ hours prior to their published judging time. They must be back on their benches within a half hour after judging of their breed is complete. Best of Breed/Variety winners will be released at 3 p.m. for their transfer to MSG. All dogs must be removed from the benching areas by 11:30 p.m. from all venues each evening.
Where can I unload?
Exhibitors can unload at the Javits Center by entering the loading dock at West 40th St. and 12th Ave. Access will also be available via the front entrance at 11th Ave / W 38th St. The Javits Center will be open on Sunday, February 9 from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. for multi-day and Monday exhibitors to unload and set up. The venue will re-open at 6 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday for the respective days of judging. Tuesday exhibitors desiring to unload in advance of judging may be able to do so Monday evening from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. All exhibitors and dogs must exit the Javits Center by 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Agility exhibitors will not have access to the venue on Friday, February 7. The venue will be open at 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 8.
What is the hotel shuttle bus schedule, and where does it run?
Shuttle service for the short ride back and forth to the Javits Center will be provided. Shuttle buses will loop from the northwest corner of West 34th St. and 8th Ave. beginning at 5:30 a.m. on each show day. There will also be a shuttle service from the Javits Center to MSG and back for Best of Breed winners beginning at 3 p.m.on Monday and Tuesday.
May I show and go?
No, this is a benched show (see benching question for details). Only dogs entered for Junior Showmanship ONLY may leave once their judging is completed.
