Meet the Collie (smooth)

With a short dense coat, the Smooth Collie offers an easy care “wash and wear” variety having the same fine qualities of gentleness, intelligence, and loyalty as his longhaired brothers and sisters. Besides being an excellent family dog, the Smooth Collie excels in performance work and has been successfully trained to work as both a service dog and a Seeing Eye dog. One standard is used for both Rough and Smooth varieties which are routinely interbred. Nevertheless, each maintains its distinctive herding trait, the smooth as a drover and the rough as a gatherer.
