Meet the Clumber Spaniel

The Clumber spaniel is a product of England and takes his name from Clumber Park, home of the Duke of Newcastle. Largest of all land spaniels, he is a methodical worker in the field, developed specifically for hunting upland game in dense cover. His form definitely follows function. He is a long, low, rectangular, bulky dog that retrieves through the brush rather than around or over it. He is a great swimmer and water retriever, dependable in the field, and a loyal and affectionate family companion. The Clumber is a “dignified buffoon” – wonderful, loving companions and they love children.
