Meet the German Pinscher

The German pinscher is an intelligent ancient breed with a high energy level. It originated in Germany from standard schnauzer roots, and is itself included in the origins of the doberman pinscher. German pinschers are a medium-sized (17-20 inches), short-coated, strong-willed, robust breed with a strong prey drive. They are very spirited, but not excessive barkers. They have fearless courage and tenacity if threatened. The acceptable colors range from Isabella (fawn) to red and red stag, and blacks and blues with red or tan markings. They are outstanding performance dogs and companions with an instinctive drive to protect home and family.
