Meet the Manchester Terrier (Toy)

The Toy Manchester Terrier is a bred-down version of the Standard. They were separate breeds until 1959, but now are considered two varieties of a single breed. Except for size (the toy is up to 12 pounds) and ear type (the ears of the Toy are naturally erect with no cropping), they share the same standard. Like its larger cousin, the Toy was bred to hunt and exterminate vermin. His compact size is well adapted to urban, suburban and rural living. Loyal and loving, the Manchester shows exceptional devotion to his master and can live as long as 20 years.
