Japanese Chin

As the name implies, the tiny parti-colored, long-haired lap dogs known as Japanese Chin are reputed to be natives of the land of the chrysanthemum. The Japanese, who have treasured them for centuries, have the belief that they are just as ancient as the dogs of Malta. There seems to be a probability, however, that the breed may claim to be Chinese just as surely as Japanese. Until 1977 the breed was known as the Japanese Spaniel. These entertainers sole purpose is to bring comfort and joy to those with whom they share their home.
